Signing up for our Monthly Newsletter will keep you up-to-date on all of the NEW products that arrive at Cape Annie's Lighthouse each season. Major newsletters are produced in MARCH, JUNE, SEPTEMBER and DECEMBER, with minor newsletters in all other months, plus we add an e-mail notification of our annual after-Christmas sale. That's it! Just 13 e-mails per year! The newsletters are there to keep you informed of our product line, not to hound you with unwanted e-mails (like so many online retailers do!). AND, your e-mail address will NEVER be sold or passed on to other companies! NOT RECEIVING OUR E-MAILS??? - We haven't forgotten you! We promise! Let us explain. Over the past two years, we had e-mailed everyone, INDIVIDUALLY, when our newsletters and after-Christmas sale were ready for viewing on our web site. This was over 4000 e-mails EACH TIME, which took Jim over 5 days, nonstop, to send them out. In early January 2007, we were shut down by AOL, for spamming, because one or more of our customers had hit the "SPAM" button after we e-mailed them. AOL was not going to allow us to send out these "business" e-mails anymore, so we needed to make a change. With the FEB 2007 newsletter, we hired an e-mail marketing company to send out our e-mails for us. The advantage is that they are doing all the work, sending out ALL 4000 e-mails at once, at a predetermined time that I have selected. The major DISADVANTAGE is that because this "looks" like a marketing e-mail to the thousands of computers that we are sending it to, many of YOUR computers' "anti-spam software programs" are BOUNCING this e-mail out before you have a chance to see it. You probably have assumed that we are no longer sending them to you. WHAT TO DO? Many of you could probably adjust a spam filter to allow e-mails to come through that are from "capeannieslight@aol.com" , or call your ISP to see how our e-mails can get through. . . . OR, just e-mail us and tell us that you're NOT getting these e-mails. We will be setting up a "PERSONAL E-MAIL LIST." This will be a list for those of you who are getting "BOUNCED," but really want to know when the newletters are ready. We will send you a personal e-mail, like we used to, directly from us, to be sure it gets to you. Again, we apologize of those of you who are getting "BOUNCED" and have not received any of our recent e-mails. |
